BIOGRAPHY
Liam, 38, is a Liverpool based Guitarist and Vocalist with over 18 years of professional experience as a touring musician. During this time he has played all over the world with various bands showcasing his versatility as a player and performer. He is currenly performing solo and as part of "The 80s Show" and "The Smooth Rock Show" both top tier touring theatre tributes to the 80s and the Yacht Rock genres, and as part of a Function/Events bands called "On The One" please see the links page for the social media links to these shows.
Liam picked up the guitar age 14, with inspiration coming from his father and grandfather both professional guitar players, and an unhealthy obsession with The Beatles and Oasis. After playing and singing in school talent shows he joined his first band age 18 in Liverpool, playing the popular bars at the time such as The Barfly and the Zanzibar. From this Liam got his first taste of playing professionally as he was invited to audition for "The Smiths Indeed" a tribute band to The Smiths (www.thesmithsindeed.com) where he would play the role of Johnny Marr. Liam would play with the band on and off from 2006-2017, touring the UK and Europe extensively as well as dates in America such as Headlining a Smiths Convention for 2 nights at the Avalon in Los Angeles (Click here to see footage of this show).
After this Liam played with many different bands in the Liverpool area playing everything from Pop to Indie to Progressive Rock all the while honing his craft and searching for a sound that would define him. Around 2014 Liam began to market himself as a singer/guitarist and started playing regularly on the Liverpool covers circuit and Corporate Functions and Weddings which enabled him to leave his day job and focus on music as a full time job. It was also around this time that Liam joined "Dreaming of Kate" (www.dreamingofkate.com) a touring theatre show playing the music of Kate Bush. With this project Liam was able to do yet more international touring and get a chance to play some beautiful theatres including Liverpool's very own "Epstein Theatre".
From 2015 Liam has been playing, recording and touring with blues/rock/soul artist "Paul Dunbar and The Black Winter Band". Liam truly believes this is a band that allows him to express his own voice on the guitar and you can hear this expression and passion on the debut release from that band "Made My Peace With You" (link is on the home page).
Liam will continue to tour with the band whilst still honing and sculpting his own sound on the guitar, and mostly just having fun with the instrument he fell in love with as a teen.
